‘세계 여러 나라의 민족 고유음악을 다양한 방식으로 재해석하여 누구나 친근하게 즐길 수 있도록 한다’는 음악적 지향에서 출발한 “두 번째 달”은 ‘태초에 달이 두 개였다면?’이라는 독특한 상상력만큼이나 개성 있는 에스닉 퓨전 음악을 선보이는 밴드이다. 2005년 첫 정규앨범 발매 이후 크로스오버, 드라마 음악, 국악 등 다양한 장르를 넘나들며 독창적인 음악 세계를 구축해 왔다. 특히 2016년 발표한 국악 프로젝트 앨범 〈판소리 춘향가〉로 2017년 제14회 한국대중음악상 ‘최우수 재즈&크로스오버-크로스오버 음반’ 부문을 수상하며 음악적 성과를 인정받았다. 2018년 평창동계올림픽 폐막식 무대에 올랐으며, 뉴욕, 워싱턴, 밴쿠버 등 북미 지역으로도 활동 영역을 넓혀왔다. 국내외 관객들과 꾸준히 소통하며 전통과 현대, 동양과 서양의 음악적 경계를 자유롭게 넘나드는 두번째달만의 음악 세계를 이어가고 있다.

Second Moon is a Korean ethnic fusion band dedicated to reinterpreting traditional music from around the world in fresh and accessible ways. Inspired by the imaginative question, “What if there had originally been two moons?”, the group creates a distinctive sound that blends diverse musical traditions and contemporary influences.

Since releasing their debut album in 2005, Second Moon has explored a wide range of genres, including crossover music, television drama soundtracks, and traditional Korean music. Their 2016 album Pansori Chunhyangga, a project inspired by Korean traditional narrative singing, won Best Crossover Album at the 14th Korean Music Awards in 2017.

The band performed at the closing ceremony of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and has expanded its international presence with performances in New York, Washington, D.C., and Vancouver. Continuing to connect with audiences in Korea and abroad, Second Moon creates music that moves freely across the boundaries of tradition and modernity, East and West.
